i am about to start looking to Upgrade my Qualifications when i was at college back early 90s cough cough i did just my Pt1 and 2 to the 16th edition regs.

Ive found a college in Birmingam that offer a training course suited to my needs its called RF Training Eletrical training courses | Bespoke Courses | Electrician Course | | RFTraining.co.uk

and they say that at the end of the 7 weeks i can gain these qualifications

City & Guilds (2382) – 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (Level 3)
Logic Full Scope Electrical Part P Scheme
City & Guilds (2392) Certificate in Fundamental Inspection and Testing and Initial Verification
Logic Certification Domestic Periodic Inspection and Testing Award

Has anyone heard or had dealings with this college.

cheers

What is the cost for the course?

What about the time frame ? is it night or day and how many ? Obviously the city and guilds courses are ok, is that the 2382-10 one?

The 2392 is the course leading upto the full 2391-10 course and deals mainly with initial verification. Those 2 courses alone would be roughly 850- 1000 pounds with a training centre, perhaps a little less.

The other 2 courses I'm not so sure about, They look like they are just training days to get you use to the part P and the building Regs, and how to do a domestic PIR and paperwork.

Most training centre do PIR workshops and Part P workshops so it's a common thing. The bottom line is cost, and who is paying

Well the 17th course will do that on it's own as you have the part 1 and 2, The others will be strings to a bow, if your not paying for it then go for it

The 2 city & guild courses are normally 3 days for 2382-10 and 4 days for the 2392 so that's just over a working week.

The other 2 no idea , but a PIR and Part P workshops are just normally a day at roughly 200 pounds each.

Did the college not give you a course outline on what this will achieve.

Hmmmmmmm it's a get qualified quick scheme which you don't need really as such as a lot of this will be way under you if you have your part 1 and 2.

But as it say it will get you recognised as a Domestic installer which will help. As I said if you not paying for it might as well go for it, but you might find 4 of those 7 weeks are mind numbing with your qulifications.......................wall chasing I ask you
