How do you know it came loose ?

you would have required a screwdriver to gain access to the dimmer module to behim with...

Yes of course you can leave an unprotected live wire hanging out of the wall until the morning. Electricity is telepathic and will know you intend to come back later so it won't kill anybody that touches it until you come back!

It's much the same as gas fitters being allowed to leave a gas leak because they forgot to bring a spanner with them!

Got a screwdriver off house fixed now crisis arrested the screwdriver used for 3.5s was a different size to the termination screws

Got screwdriver off a house mate crisis over the screws to take the face plate off was different size for the terminations screws

The switch was in my room so it would be only me that could access it

It's a dimmer screw not a 3.5 mate had to use a pair of scissors to get more sheath off the copper lol

A basic connecting driver would do both. I'd suggest you get the switch and cable checked asap.

Don't you carry a neon in your Bib and Brace coveralls? I did along with a pen, Packet of smokes, some loose screws, spare tea bags, last weeks pay slip just to check my Boss aint trying to dock too much. lol NO DON'T LEAVE IT UNTIL NEXT DAY

it's next day now pete. b&q open at 10 so he can go buy a neon driver. it willdo the terminal and the faceplate screws, hopefully without shocking him.
