Hi guys,

I am ready to buy my first MTF. I want the Megger 1552. Question is should I buy a new one with 3 years warranty or go for a cheaper version and buy a used one without warranty or calibration certificate?

Thank you!

Depends what your using for,if your just using it for training/learning then go for the cheaper version as long as its in good working order should be fine, also worth asking questions from whoever you buy it from, how long have they had it,do they have any previous calibration certs or when did the calibration expire? Check that there is a serial number on the unit and that it hasn't been removed as if it has could be stolen and you would have problems if you ever wanted to get it calibrated.
If your looking for one to sign off work It should be in calibration with cert.

The 1500 series is being replaced by the 1700 series. The website has a sponsor test-meter dot co dot uk (search about for the site discount code). They are really nice to deal with.

buy new, as they range MFT1500 is being replaced you are sure to find deals around.
Don't accept the price indicated on web sites, give them a call (trust me)

Personally it would annoy me having to use adaptors all the time. Can't you buy a proper UK one?
