yo, using a chalkline to set you back boxes.

if the floor aint exactly level and you mark your back boxes , would you notice to the eye a few mm out along a 10M run.... reason asking is my laser level is out of action and am held up till tonight..

ive always used laser and never thought about it

as in clear hose pipe filled with water open at ends one end at required height hold other end and mark water level Olod school method but great for transferring levels round corners ect

One of these babies, mine at home had the ends made of brass beautiful tool and IMO better than that stupid red light that I can never see

cant beat a laser if you can see it, but as others have mentioned, a water level is unbeatable for transferring around corners ect. I remeber being taught to use them for setting out shuttering for concrete pads when i was in the army.

If you have a lot of measurements that are the same, ie for socket heights, or distance between hangers ect, then i always make up a measuring stick. I cut it at exaxctlty the length i want, and use that to mark up, it saves fannying about with a tape measure.

floors out and ceiling is out telectrix, but got laserlevel today and all boxes set then he says wheres the dishwasher switch , but thin is no dishwasher on drawing..... could of clashed him as he changing all the time , clashed my brother as hes architect...
