Using an in car Inverter to power electrical items

I have used a cheap Inverter for years in front of van to charge Phones and other various small demand items, my question is if I use the supplied Laptop mains charger is the supply stable enough to risk no damage as I unsure if they rely on a Class 1 Earthed supply to function and filter the supply ?.

I use one of these

120W Laptop Car Adaptor : InCar Power Adaptors : Maplin

Don't see the point of converting 12v to 240v and then back to 15 - 20v for the computer you are just putting a lot of power into the inverter for nothing but waste

i use 1 to charge the drills batterys while on the move and i run me soldering iron off it
