hi, just wondering if anyone installs the vphase optimisation systems and could give me some info on these and what you think? the question is i know someone who has electricity bill of £1700 a month for a shop..... and would these make much of a difference... thanks trev

iv installed one of these that a customer supplied about a year ago.
it reduced voltage to 220v, after speaking to him he belives he saves around 9/10% on his electric bill.
based on this you customer should save around £170 a month if his bill is £1700.
i think it would be worth fitting one, they cost around £300ish so will it would have payed for its self in 2 months.
not sure if it could work if he had a 3phase supply though. its also worth noting that his heaters took a little longer to heat up.
i would fit one to my house but my bill is only about £20-£25 a month so it would take a long time to pay for itself.

Remember, the Vphase only regulates up to 20 Amps then goes into bypass so you CAN NOT pro rata saving calculations like you have shown.

Also, if the unit is £300 what did you charge to install it?

This all adds to the payback period.

agreed , however i was just going off what my customer had informed me, he said after working out it out over a year on average he save 9/10 % off his electric bill.
i charged him about £200 labour for fitting and testing
