Another option although costs a few quid,is to install a day/night cctv camera and a dvr coverving your van.
I had one in my last house and you could pick out a face and even most vechicle regs.
Camera alone was 200 quid.
Caught one of our pikey freinds snooping around my ladders which were locked on the top of the van.
These people are truely scumbags.

Personally, I believe an alarm is your best defence. I know most people neighbours will ignore them, but least it will get your attention and scare of thieves. A van vault will be useful to prevent smash and grabs.

I was once a victim of theft from a company van, and I had the original van vault. When the Post Man told me my van had been broken into, I was not too bothered as I had the Van Vault. Unfortunately, after inspecting van I found that too had been opened, and clearly had taken some force. I bet they were in my van for a good 15 minutes working on it.

This was done by "professional" thieves, rather than smash and grabs. They new what they wanted, and we're not stopping until they got it. There was a large amount of vehicles done in one night.

Our company Vans have a full bulkhead fitted with additional deadlocks on rear doors. Two of our vans were "attacked" at during a day call out and damaged but no equipment was stolen. They are made by a company called Locks 4 Vans on the keys. They may be worth a try.
