Van/Van Bodies

J

jsup

Hello everyone,

Aside from price, what are the things i should consider when buying a van or getting van body. Suggestions and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hi Jsup and welcome to the forum.

Space for tools / Space for materials / weight carrying limit / Roof Rack ability / price of van maintenance and repairs

would be a few that I'd think of.

Load capacity how often will you need a big van how many tools you carry ect

fuel consumption Insurance maintanance and availability of parts (Van may be cheap but servicing every 6000 and high parts cost may make it a no goer
Vans with 3 seats may appeal but I sure wouldnt fance being in the middle seat of new transit or scudo its a bit tight on the knees
watch for tyre sizes out of the ordinary as these can be expensive and difficult to source

side loading doors, and enough length inside for 3m trunking, etc. decent security. go for simplicity, the more electronics there are, the more to go wrong and incur huge repair bills.

Decide how much and what youm are going to be wanting to carry, and size it to that.

At least 1 side loading door is very usefull and as said already, something that will fitt 3m lengths in
