Varilight V Pro dimmers for LED lamps. Troublesome or not?

Just been to Eddys to get three of these and they said they don't stock them any more due to constantly failing and they got sick of the amount of returns.

Seen a few icky reviews on Amazon, but most are positive. And I have generally only heard good things about them.

So are they a potential nightmare or not.... Anyone have thoughts on them.. I don't want to be called back every few months due to them failing.

Eddys recommended Zanno instead. But sometimes you wander if they are simply more profitable for them to sell!!

Have used them on about 7-8 jobs, in the last couple of years , and have had 2 fail, and if remember they were quite heavily loaded (but not over the recommended limit)

they are my dimmer of choice for LED lamps, however I do not fit many as I try and convince customers they do not need dimmers.
I would not buy Zano as they are horrendously expensive.

I don't let the way zano dim and pulse and flash. It's not a smooth dim. Disappointed as the module was over £60 inc. . I had to use one for twelve of the new jccled10 (12.5w) as most only dim 100w in led.
My fave are the Hamilton led dimmers. Lovely. Smooth

Fitted a couple with no call back. WF Senate sell a 'Zano' clone, for a lot less money. MK do LED dimmer now as well.

Not much else to say with this one GayOwl.
I've fitted a couple of the v-pro without issue. The one other options I can think of are the MK one or Zano, but I would only use Zano if I absolutely had to due to the expense, perhaps if the customer insisted on more than 10 LED's being dimmed with the one switch.
I think LED hut do a dimmer as well but that may well just be one of the above.

I've just reread your OP. I thought you had had problems with them....sorry! I would try them out, but stick to the limits stated, i.e 10 lamps or 100w per gang I think!

I fitted a few at home with no problems at all 3years later, fitted 8 in total at 3 different houses, the 2 with robus led lamp all failed within 2-3 months I replaced with zano and no more problems upto a year, I thought I install a dimmer at home and used the batch of led lamps I had on my vpro dimmer and with the zano it didn't dim very good and after 3 week the dimmer went bang

Ive realised it about matching the lamps with compatible dimmer. Robus work well with zano
