A while back i had to do a job at a grade 2 listed building. The owner said the work was zero rated but could not show me the listed buildig zero rated certificate. To be safe i phoned the VAT office, after a bit of discussion she said get a coppy of cert and it would be ok to be zero rated if all the work i did was to bring building back to original. I replied that if i put it back to original i would be putting in candles!!! She then said she would send me some information about it. It turned out to be an inch thick book that would have given Einstein a headache. So it was up to me to decide if it was vatable or not. Three months later i had a VAT inspection, the first thing they asked for was the cert!! Any one else had VAT problems.:nonod:

I've moved this to the business forum for you which is more appropriate and hopefully get more relevant replies. Also it won't get buried as quickly. :)
