Vent valve greenstar 35cdi compact how to get back inside Hi

Took the vent valve off which has a spring clip and sits in the top right hand side of the boiler, particular to this install it's in a cupboard making access difficult on top of a step ladder and sliding into the cupboard.

I have
Drained the system.
Silicone greased the new valve for reseating

It's difficult to reseat the vent valve and then get the spring insert back into position there must be a technique to get it back in and I don't have it at the moment. The U shaped retainer spring doesn't seem to fit over the vent valve body.

Any help would be welcome.

Many thanks

Matt
