i started to do a pir today for a rental property, however the owner made a mistake as it was a energy efficiency cert he needed and not an electrical cert so i stopped, i had taken a few measurements and found a very high pfc ,the instrument showing>19.99ka,with a ze of 0.3,system tns.is this a problem ? as i havnt come across anything as high, your comments appreciated

Sound to me that you are right next to a substation as the closer you are the higher the PSC the further you are away the lower and its quite suprising the differance a short distance can make ,and by the way if the property is being let it will need a PIR this is required every 5 years or change of tenant (5 years although its a domestic premises its being used for commercial purposes:rolleyes:

This lesser known technique can be used for RCBO protected circuits, allowing a high current test to be used. It's a good one to have in the bag...

I think I might be tempted to test this theory, if it can be done without causing danger to anyone.
