Can someone offer me some guidance.

I am wanting to keep the switching pair on two zone valves aswell as the switching pairs in a time clock volt free. Mainly so that 230V isnt flying around different wiring centres.

Is there a way I can have volt free switching to pull a relay of some sort in? to then send 230V to a pump??

Any Guidance would be great

Cheers
Mark.

They already are volt free???

What are you trying to achieve here?

You can get timeswitches with volt free contacts if you shop around a bit.

Plus the micro switch of the valve is effectively volt-free, bit I don't know if it would be suitably segregated to be used for SELV switching, the cables all get mashed together somewhat in those valves

Ive never used one but what about an opto isolator activated by photocell?

As a relay, would need a voltage to operate the led in the opto isolator.........the only contacts which will be volt free are the starting contacts (ie a time clock) and the final relay contacts.....but any relay in between will need power.
