Voltage Drop

When looking for a new radial circuit for a extension i came across a cable that was used for the old boiler. So thought bingo use this. So checked the breaker and it was the correct circuit. I then put my mtr on it and i got 210 volts.

Why is their a voltage drop ?

Have you verified the incoming voltage to the property.

I have 230 on the sockets so its their. Lost me

Did you test across a neon.

No it was in a chocy block.

Cant figure this out at all Duhhhhhhhh

Leave it alone and pull a new circuit in.

Have you checked at the other end of this old boiler cable? Loose connection?, tightened through insulation? etc etc.

Not as yet but i will check the board in the morning.
Fingers crossed its the insulation !
