tested a circuit and its measured voltage was 218V. No where near the calculated VD. Any suggestions on what the Maximum permissable VD is .

Also, what was your voltage at the main CU?

It's 5% of power, and 3% of lighting, therefore 218.5V and 223.1V working at a nominal voltage of 230V to earth.

As pevvers said without you telling us the incomming voltage of the supply we cant tell what volts drop you have if any?

So how long was the length of run and cable type and size? Because to drop 12V in a domestic installation takes a lot of doing!

That is a large volt drop. Was the measurement taken with the circuit under load? if not I would think there is something else wrong.
