OK Struggling here, my calcs give a minimum voltage of 2 strings of 8 being 244v why is SB software stating its 198V??

What am I doing wrong

My thoughts were this was an OK substitute for the inverter of choice (PVI3600)

SMA software does not like this configeration?

It looks like to me minimum DC voltage is based on a high tempreture - so on a really hot day your system could cut out, or if you any shade for example it may not have enough voltage to keep running.

You should take note of the cold temperatures ,when I went to SMA this was discussed and they design a system with this in mind ie, if the temp drops the voltage can rise above the inverters upper voltage parameters ,causing damage to the inverter

most installers I have spoken to use -10C which is what I was told to do on the PV course I did ,whereas the record lowest temp in England was(in 1982 or 84 can't remember which I was young then) minus 26 C in Newport ,Shropshire
and on some program configurations it can look ok on a temp of -10 but drop it to a figure which we have seen in recent years like -17C and the program will show a warning of potentially damaging voltages.

Good, its well within for cold temps, just if the voltage drop is massive due to high temp it will drop below the reccomended and shut down, that said we are talking about a very significant voltage drop, cant see it happening

I have all the blue tooth stuff and software, will look into possible reducing the figure.
