Hi all, my problem is with a dvr in a comm garage. The garage is 3 phase, the office were dvr is located is on a 6 way rcd protected board, the dvr has recently been getting spiked, with the board using the same phase as other boards in the garage, ie, ramps, commpresser. I have fitted a usp in line for the dvr, this filters and managers the input so there is no spikes and dips in supply, the question i have is this usp is registing only 227v, would this effect the dvr, i think the percentage of drop is very small, the garage could be furthest away hence volt drop. the hard drives in these dvrs are very sensitive, any spike or drop can ruin a hard drive, but the 227v is still nagging me. thanks phil

227 V should be fine it is only 3 V below the nominal value of 230V. The DVR should be able to manage down to 216V as the minimum supply voltage (but might not). The DVR will be running on ELV internally anyway, which should be a fixed voltage by its internal circuitry (but not by the methods a UPS would do).
