vytek equivalent MCB

Hello, went to a property today and came across a board I had never seen before: Vytek. Looks an okay board but I cannot source an MCB for it neither by the fuse Company, ebay or others I have tried. Does anybody know what is a compatible fit - or can sell me a 20A Vytek MCB? Many thanks

Wow! That was fast! Many thanks but I found that one - I need a 20A. Found this site though: Vytec 17th Edition - SND Electrical which has them dead cheap ( should I suspect something?)

they are a very common mcb style pro elec from cpc , niglon , etc normally just badged up differently having said that im a stickler for everything being the same make

If you are desperate 8-50 is nothing, I have paid over 200 before for an MCB, sometimes you just have to do it and pass the cost onto the customer. A decent spark would explain the situation to the customer and provided they didn't rip them off 9 times out of 10 would have no problem purcahsing the required materials, you tight fisted so and so :earmuffs:

They probably are all the same make they just have different company names on them

I tend to agree with you MDJ - actually the postage price for two MCBs is the same as for one so i suppose they actually have a fair P&P rate. Thanks for the advice everybody.

I think i'd have to think long and hard before i paid out £200 for an MCB, if that £200 wouldn't somehow be better spent in replacing the whole CU!! lol!! Bit of a bugger if a week later, you had to spend the same amount on replacing another old or out of production breaker in the same board!!

I have done work in schools where they have floor standing distboards and MCCB boards, you know the type and they have internal mcb boards in the whole structure. sometimes they are very old but still working well and the cost to buy an mcb cheaper than a new sub main and distboard, I understand your point but sometimes you just have to order the breaker and if it is a type which is rare somebody will hold you to ransom for it.
