still learning.

I was reading an old post where it was said it was ok to use waggo push fit blocks instead of crimps when extending cable in a wall. but would it still need heatshrink?

If cable was extendid in a loft would just the waggo be sufficiant or would extra protection be needed to protect the block from damage

For the loft scenario you should put the wago into something like a ChocBox or an adaptable box to give it mechanical protection.

Not sure I would use a wago for repairing a cable buried in a wall, you would have to use faily large size heat shrink say a 15mm to slide over the wago, and that would not then shrink over a cable conductor to give you a sealed joint. IMO crimping would be better

you would have to install them in an adaptable box as you need the integrety of the double insulation of the cable

would that also be the case if they were used to put a up a luminair and they have to be pushed up through the plasrer board because there's no room like ones I have seen where people have used connector blocks and pushed them up.

well in that case my friend if you use a jb in the ceiling then flex out most fittings should cover the connection , wago do a brilliant connector and be honest i used it for the first time the other day push fit for solid and press connector for the stranded brilliant , if you push a terminal into a ceiling where there is acess then you shouldint use terminal block because id you do then you will have exposed terminals in the loft not a good idea at least with wagos thier is no exposed terminals

ive got wago's and they are brilliant i just wanted to know if it was ok to push them through without any aditional protection.
most of the lights in my house i have had to push them up because there wan't enough room for them.
