Hi chaps,

Just wondered where the best place is to pick up a bulk lot of MF connector blocks.

I picked up some Wagos on eBay a while back and they're brilliant, but don't know anyone locally who stocks them.

Anyone know of any of the big chain wholesalers where I can get them?

Have you taken a look a one of the forum sponsors, Line? Some good kit there with a forum discount and excellent service.

Be careful with definition of MF. The standard WAGO range are NOT MF according to BS7671.

Why is the standard WAGO range not classed as MF?

cheers

I bought some Hager MF junction boxes from CEF, Junction Boxes Hager ,

I have found that some Wago are MF and the lever type connectors are not MF. I thought that the push fit Wago's in their junction box met the MF requirements. It turns out the Hager MF box is made by Wago.

Hope this helps, Tom

Because for some reason, Wago have not as yet applied to have their product tested to see whether it complies with the relevant standard.

I stood in the wholesalers and was informed by the WAGO sales rep that their products were fully tested and certified, also they claim that WAGO were the only product on the market that have been approved to be put on a cable, taken off and reused. He stated no other manufacturer had this approval!

BS5733 Maintenance Free Wagobox
We are delighted to announce that the Wagobox junction box soon be available with the BS5733 MF mark. The MF logo was introduced in BS5733:2010 "General Requirements for electrical accessories" as a marking that can be used on accessories to indicate that the accessory doesn't require further inspection, testing or maintenance after installation. Since the 1st of January 2012 the MF mark has become a requirement for maintenance free accessories and we have been working hard with Wago, the manufacturer of the 773 and 222 terminals, to complete all the required analysis, testing and product upgrades to ensure the Wagobox can be used as a maintenance free accessory in accordance with requirements of BS5733. This work has been completed and the new Wagobox with the BS5733 MF mark will be available in October 2012. Apart from the additional product marking, the new Wagobox has a lid locking mechanism and will be supplied with an enhanced set of user instructions. For further information please visit the Wagobox support page at www.************/support where we have posted a Question and Answer document in the FAQ section. If you have any further queries then please do call and we will be happy to answer your questions.

Hmm, well as his lips were moving, and he was a sales rep, you should have been able to tell that he either didn't have a bloody clue what he was talking about, was lying his behind off, or promising you something without any idea at all if it was possible.

Ray brewer said this would be happening earlier this year. They will be most welcome now the bs from certain other suppliers might stop.

I think you'll find that it is WAGO that has been guilty party as far as BS is concerned.
Even now they still advertsise their product as being maintenance free, yet it does not meet the requirements to be an MF connection.
