Hi.

Quick question.
Iv (permantely) removed a wall light. Which I will fill in the hole in the plaster board. I need to 'terminate' the wires and push them back in to the wall before plastering.
What do you normally do? I'm inclined to use Wago's and insulate.
Any other thoughts ?

Thanks

He did say suspect wiring, but i tend to agree still very doubtfull.

Im sure the OP will still wago them behind the plaster, like everyone else seem's too. Nail goes through for nice picture, and unfortuatley sods law dictats it smashes straight onto the neutral and earth. Ballache for Mr.Electrician....

So yes, if possible (if not possible - make it possible) disconnect the supply from said switch.

There may be other wall lights hence looping Neutrals so regardless of isolating the Switch wire the cable need fully disconnecting from the wall unless you flush mount a blanking box and hide with picture.

The cables will still be linked into the circuit and will be out of zone the minute you remove the fitting so no you can't simply bury the cables as you are possibly replastering anyway why not bash a hole in the ceiling if it comes down and terminate of into a maintenance free joint and then repair the hole... same if coming up just disconnect under floor.

@OP Wago's are not IP rated so you suggest insulating them now say you had a socket to ensure zoning still complied... how would you insulate it as normal tape isn't IP rated either you would require an insulation method that is both good for been buried in plaster and give the moisture barrier required. An amalgamating Tape or heat-shrink pocket end termination..(if you have the spare ÂŁ100 for the heat gun and assorted sleeving etc)

The repair kit is actually sold by WAGO for that specific purpose (in the wall repair). I had wondered myself about shrinking individually first...

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I already have a good number of the 32A single gang connectors so I'll be using those on each individual wire...
