Hi,

I've seen pictures of people standing on modules during installation/maintenance do any of you climb or stand on modules?

When you fix near the edge of the roof and require access to the top of the array I guess there is no alternative but to climb on them right?

Schuco do have some in roof panels that can be walked on. Done it at their centre in Milton Keynes but as for standard panels......It's a NO from me!

Most panels will take the weight of the average person. But remember its 3-4mm of glass. I am not aware of any manufacturer that states in their warranty that standing or walking over their panels is permitted. I have seen videos from manufactures demonstrating their strength by running up them and across them but it is only a demonstration of strength. I have pv and I would go spare if I saw the installer standing or walking across them whether it was permitted or not. It would be a big no no for me.

At the segen show today, schott showed a slide with 560kg on one of their panels. 4mm glass you see, that extra 0.5mm makes a huge difference ;)

Hey MDJ, the one you see at the right ( the kitchen switch) is a momentary switch, but again that hasn’t been touched
