ive used a box sinker before and theyre quite effective on the hard stuff, worth it if youve got alot to do.

not worth using on softer block/thermalite as they tend to just destroy it!
but you put em on engineering brick or that hard fired stuff such as ruabon (common in victorian houses)....and it`l be the EBS you destroy..lol....

Metabo wall chaser and Bosch GAS25 vac. I use it all the time, very little dust which is only created when I chisel the material out from between the two cuts made by the wall chaser.

If you genuinely believe the wall to be soft you could use either of the Wolfcraft TCT wall chasers or any of the star wheel chasers available in SDS or SDS Max. These are a little less messy as they chip out pieces rather than reduce all to dust but the material must be soft.

We have a couple of metabo chasers and vacs and i'v got say their brilliant!! so long as your carefull you can chase and dig them out cleanly, even in the tidyest of houses. Expensive bits of kit though..

Ive used the metabo and vac.almost no dust, bloody kills your arms when your up high though, would imagine that you can hire them out from certain outlets.

The hilti machine is virtually dust free
