Hi

I'm looking for a 6a version of this [h=1]http://www.mail2web.com/cgi-bin/redir.asp?lid=0&newsite=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAGER-RCBO-B-32-AMP-30ma-RCD-MCB-104205-4500-AD010B-/280667355848[/h]
Its for an old Hagar board and I need to replace the 6A CB with an RCBO. Any one have one?

If not any solutions? TIA

Kind Regards

David

RCD/FCU surface mounted close to board? Had to use them a few times on odd-ball or obsolete boards, sometimes cheaper option than buying the RCBO too.

Hager are the only manufacturer that i know of that haven't changed the design of their MCBs from day one till now. I can't view the link as it doesn't work but i'm certain that a new Hager RCBO will fit. Try your local wholesalers or TLC but make sure you don't pay more then ÂŁ25+VAT. I pay a fair bit less then that but it depends on your discounts etc.

That's an interesting looking beast, looks to be a double pole RCBO. Is there any reason why it would need to be double pole? If not and a single pole (tall) RCBO will fit then I'd be willing to wager that a brand new Hager one will fit in it's place. You'll probably need a blank to cover up the spare way but I can't see why it wouldn't fit.

Could it be a TT system?

yes its a tt system but only the sockets were on this mcb/rcd. The lighting is on a mcb. I'm working on the lighting so need rcd protection

The regs insist on a TT system having a means of isolation for the neutral (reg 537.1.2), often it is interpreted that if the CU as a main double pole 100amp switch, this conforms to the regulation.

IMO because of the nature of a TT system and the unreliability of the earth, I like also to have fault protection double pole. Obviously the new 17th boards gives us this with double pole RCD protection. Often though if RCBO's are used single pole ones are fitted and though it is not against the regs to do this, providing you have that double pole main switch, I think it is leaving the installation less safe in the event of a N-E fault, that may not be able to clear on single pole protection.
