Hi there I've being self employed now for nearly a year but I have just being sub-contracting, I've got alot of my own work coming on soon and I'm wanting to join elecsa so that I can sign it off. I've looked through their application form and tried searching on line about there assessment and all I can seem to find is talk about them coming to look at previous jobs people have done. I can't seem to find anything about what to do for 1st time assessment how can they ask to see previous signed off work if you haven't got any because you can't sign it off without being a member. Please tell me if I'm just being thick here.

what he said ^^^

Notifcation needs to be done within 30 days of the job being completed so make sure its completed just before your assessment.

Or make the date up when you finished so it looks like it was finished within 30 days of the inspection and notification date, buy the customer a bunch of flowers and some choccy's and get them to confirm the finish date you make up on the sheets lmao

Chicken or egg situation. This situation is kinda glossed over by all the scheme providers for a domestic installer who is a sole trader. Like or not peeps, if that's what you want to do, you have to join one of them................and be ÂŁ500 worse off! I've read some have done work in their own house on their very first assessment, and quite frankly LABC won't care if you get a scheme number, which you will get unless you are a complete numpty. They will like to see something quite substantial on your first assessment, such as a CU change. So why don't you treat your house to a new CU, as l'm sure you are competent?

or join the revolution. refuse to join one of these bloodsucking scams, and show LABC the finger. :dita:
