After making a complaint to B&Q about a member of staff giving information to customers about fitting showers lights and changing a consumer unit. My local B&Q promised to take action but never did.
I have now visited 10 B&Q stores around Yorkshire and got info from store electricians on how to in tall garden lights, electric showers and consumer units no mention that the works done need to be notified to LABC, and this work should be done by a competent person/ qualified electrician.
I have now sent my findings to Watchdog program and hopefully they will investigate them on the show. If any members have heard similar information giving out in your local stores please send it to watchdog, let's stamp this nonsense out. Part P= Electrical safety in dewllings, B&Q=encourage cowboys no regard to protect homes and livestock.

A very noble cause Steve and I wish you luck, all that will most likely happen, if anything, is B & Q will advise that extra training will be given to their staff, and that will be that.

Too much money involved to stop the practice.

The Don Quixote syndrome again, you’re fighting a loosing battle. You’ll never stop DIY stores selling electrical goods. As for Watchdog, do you honestly think they would feature a load of sparks quoting regulations to the audience? They want the viewing figures as much as B&Q want the sales.

Fighting to get rid of part P would make more sense. Warning Joe Bloggs that he’s breaking reg’s will cut no ice if his light turns on.
