Hi Everyone New Here - I have a TNS installation and I am unable to find a stopcock inside the house to attach my 10mm earth from the CU to there is a stopcock in a ratbox outside the front door. Is it alright for me to attach the earth to what I "think" is the first upturn of copper out of the concete floor (which happens to be the kitchen tap. I do not know the required distance from the stopcock that the earth is supposed to be attached to.

2nd question - Is there anything that states that a combi boiler on a 6amp fuse at the CU rated down to a 3amp sf/spur CANNOT also have a permanent feed and neutral taken before the sf/spur go on to feed a pull switch shaver light in a bathroom as long as it is clearly marked at the CU?

THX

Hi there.

To your 1st question - bonding is a stressful issue. Ideally, you should be within 600mm of the customer side of the stopcock. However, if that is outside the premises, then as close to where the pipework enters the building, and is accessible. Wherever you bond it, make it clear at the CCU where that is. I was told that bonding conductors should remain within the structure in which the installation exists.

To your 2nd question - many people prefer boilers to have a unique supply to avoid it going off due to some other fault. If you decide to add more to that circuit, then you run that risk. And yes, make those details clear at the CCU.
