I have a wall mounted circular junction box in the hall, and, after recently taking the false ceiling down, found that the cooker supply had been run under and across the bottom of the joists to link with this box and then go through a hole in the wall into the kitchen. The supply for an extremely old water softener originates at the junction box and passes through a fcu about 20 feet down the line. The kitchen is fitted and I cant see if anything else spurs off the cooker supply. The wires of the supply have been bared within the box to join with the spur and I am wondering if this is a safe set up and whether it is safe to spur of the cooker supply for an out of kitchen socket.
