Applied to join the NICEIC that is, I joined the ECA last November and cannot believe how many companies / authorities and others that will not recognise the ECA.
The benefit of the NIC though is you get full and part P for half the price of ECA / Elecsa

That is surprising
I am not a member of the ECA but,
The ECA as an organisation is in a totally different league to the NICEIC as far as size goes
It dwarfes the NICEIC
Most large buisnesses would be very aware of the status of the ECA ,but its part P legs (ELECSA+ BRE) will be less so
In the world of part p I think it makes little difference to the small fry like me, who we are registered with

I have no need of the NICEIC because like most one man bands they are as little known to Joe public as all the others and are helpful with their name popularity only when seeking larger contracting work

If the ECA took installation generally and Part P more seriously then they would probably swallow up the NICEIC and put them back under their unmbrella where they came from in the first place
