Well I got my megger done at my wholesalers recently which is Denmans cost me ÂŁ65 quid but took 4 days. Think there's a Denmans in liverpool.

I use these people based in Wigan so not too far from Liverpool

Calibration

If you need a quick turnaround they can do a 24 hour service or a 1 hour one if you are really desparate

You can calibrate yor own testers these days, I have got a little check box (which I think was about ÂŁ20) to test IR and continuity side of things, for RCD and loop tests just use your own house.

You need original calibration cert and then all results from your own testing recorded every 2 months, and this is passable by elecsa, and I have done it for the past 3 years.

Definately recommend it.

Cheshire Electrical at Congleton have a calibration day tomorrow.

From memory I think single test items ÂŁ27.00 - multi-function testers ÂŁ40ish

Congleton : 01260 279695

Head Office :
The Meadows
Congleton
Cheshire
CW12 1DN

I found this one close to me, said ÂŁ45 if I take it in to them.

I don't view it as an essential feature. The tester I use day-to-day doesn't do that test. It doesn't cause me any problems. All low current tests...
