Wetroom query

I came accross a job recently where a storage heater had been removed from a wet room and replaced with an Ip65 oil towel rail as the storage heater wasn't the correct IP rating for zone 1. The towel rail is supplied from the same IP20 Flex Outlet just outside of Zone 2 but in the line of the shower. My issue is that the flex outlet is liable to come into contact with water and is not really suitable for the environment despite being out of zone and either needs to be relocated or IP rated. Does anybody know the reg to support this?

A cable outlet is OK imho, I would only comment if the cable came out horizontally rather than downwards.

512.2 spot on i was getting bogged down in 701

Murdoch - It does come out horizontally and actually goes nearly directly vertical which would cause water to run down the flex.

lol. just that i'd taken the brb out the van where it usually resides. bgb stays at home.

No, external influences is anything that is not electrical that could effect the electrical installation (as the water dose in this case), or there could be a plastic socket in a location like a factory that could get easily damaged (by external influences like a big hammer)
