done a job today, all chased in flush and looked nice, big gaps to keep tiler happy between spurs and sockets, customer turned around and said, she didnt like the fan, dw, w.machine, f/f spurs where they were. (at worktop height) and could i put them above cupboards once kitchen is finished. of course i gave her a million of reasons of why this was not possibe.

she came out with alsorts, can you hide them in units etc etc.

this is the thanks we get these days, you do get a few dont you, silly people. any thoughts anyone just chit chat really feel free to post!

Stick her picture on the end of your chisel

I put the spurs all in an accessible space grouped together, normally high level (low enough to reach) adjacent to the work top. Have tried a bank of grid switches wired with a 4mm supply but gets messy, am going to do my kitchen this year and see if pre-wiring in tri-rated makes things easier.

I would imagine for the price your getting paid to fit them , I would not even bother talking to her. Its not her money and its not her house.

But if she was paying, this situation crops up a lot. Its a good idea to make sure the customer knows exactly "what where how and why"

Nothing, but when the tenant starts to question what you are doing, try to get more out of the job than you are getting paid for and make the job more stressful I have little patience. I love the ones that make you a cup of tea, allow you to get on with it and are grateful for the work.

It was not a 'social' comment, more a lack of sympathy for the ones that think the world owes them a millionaires lifestyle.

Sorry if I offended.

just sick and tired of the critisism council tennents get simply becuase they live in council housing were not all dirty lazy dossers that think the world owes us favours like some make out

Last year I wired a 5 bed self-build and fitted something like 6 double sockets in the kitchen at worktop height as well as switched fuse spurs for washing machine, fridge & freezer.

The woman complained because I'd given her TOO MANY sockets!!

I asked her how many she would have been happy with & she answered "one single"!!!!

The mind boggles!!!

Only ever done the FCU or 20 amp DP switches for appliance the once. Customers request, I thought it looked bobbins!

Next time i will be going down the grid setup on the end of a 4mm radial.
