I'm assuming most of the installers on this forum are 'hands on'. We have been working on three installs over the last couple of days and the phone hasn't stopped - I've had the laptop in my lap half of the day and I've been frantically calling suppliers to ensure we will get our stuff on time.

As you can probably tell from my forum posts, I'm working 18 hour days at the moment and it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage all the emails and phone calls. This will definitely be our 'best' month - at least as far as the balance sheet looks. December will clearly be pretty much a right off after the first week and I'll be in the office for the rest of the month sorting out paperwork.

If this isn't boom and bust then I must have misunderstood the concept.

I can't start a thread without hurling some abuse at Greg Barker, so here goes: "Greg Barker has a face so smug that it could irritate knot holes out of tree trunks and I would never get tired of punching it."

I think he is a really nice chap, I mean who else would drop this bomb on every one before xmas??
I might write him a letter of thanks for putting me out of work just before the holidays as I needed some time off so god bless him.

well I heard of the first installer offering his tickets at £1000 today! I will be reporting him, but hey, will this matter after 11/12? I have a telephone conference with my local MP tomorrow who tweeted less than two hours ago a rumour she had heard on twitter about a 50% cut to FIT's - where do these people come from? On the bright side I signed 7 deals today, be a good xmas - bad hangover in the new year! Enjoy all

"...my local MP tomorrow who tweeted less than two hours ago a rumour she had heard on twitter about a 50% cut to FIT's..."

Out of touch with the people? They aren't even in touch with themselves.

A mad day - and that's just trying to source panels! - thankfully one of the vans didn't have a breakdown today (oh...it did) - if it doesn't kill us it only makes us stronger eh? On a more serious note, the phone's have stopped ringing for new installs.........

Just closed the books, trying to source panels is a nightmare, just watching live stock vanish in front of your eyes. Im flat out till the 5th Dec, and some of those are temp installs just to get the kit in, then go back and tidy up the cabling etc.

Now hoping that the suppliers deliver what is ordered and paid for!!! On TIME

Can't believe the amount of panels we've bought in the last 48hrs, let alone the quantity of rail. Turned alot of customers away as well, funny how drop in returns sharpens the mind.

Its a bitter blow no matter how busy we will be, £250k of large project cancellations, another £60k looking doubtful. When you consider the time and effort its taken to build a viable business - let alone the investment. I want to bitch slap Gregory Barker so much, not so much for the slashing of the FiT but for the 6 weeks notice. Still I guess we better all get use to being cheated and used by whatever cluckjng bankers are in power.

Say a little pray to the whichever Solar Diety you believe in for sunny weather for the next 5 weeks!!

wait till it gets windy, you all be back putting them back up, what would happen if someone loosed your supports to make a claim against yous????

eh? with the extra bracing we put in to the roof you would be more worried about getting rained on in bed than where your panels are in the garden.

Thats temp as in cables (AC) NOT the panels!!! My roofer is doing an amazing job, hardly uses any lead. Got 5 barns to do, and SWA will be laid flat, nailed to posts etc. wherever and when time permits, dug in correctly. Using some suntubs too, as scafolding in short supply!

All the work from Decemebr 12th to March which was booked in is shelved. £120K worth!

Moved some forward what we can and can get the gear. Cash flow is very poor now! just hope the bank manager understands. Left with one job where the customer is trying to get the panel as I can't. And one where the customer is in hospital having a hip replacement and I can't get the Sanyo and wanted to change the panel. Looks like this one will be out of luck. Other than that we are now booked till the dead line.

Had about 7 calls and numerous emails about having a survey for a system before the 12th. And that's just today. Sorry out of luck I think however one survey wants it in before April due to the EPC and another installation for December at the new rate.

@Markc - a long shot but WF electrical had about 800 250w znshine @ 1.30/w at about 5pm today - might be worth a try if it helps

Thanks for that. I will give them a try in the morning. The problem is while he's in hospital I can't talk to him so I can't ask if he will accept the change! Not his fault but not mine either.

I'm getting stock sent tomorrow not sure arrival date (its a holiday in German!), will be early next week i imagine. 130KWp. Bauer Solartechnik GmbH Mono 190W modules only. (1580x808x35mm).

We don't have distribution centre and our only storage is on the Isle of Wight.

If anybody wants any then it is pick up only from SE London (arrange yourself - sorry I'm an installer and not set up for distribution).

no VAT. I can also get an alternative non-EU panel from Italy. But no delivery booked for these as I'm not using them myself.

PM me for details and price.

Mark c. Try Senate for your Sanyo's. They took delivery of sanyo's on Monday. 250, 240, and 235's I think.

Call 01642210351.

I knew I was right! (just checked with the boss who paid the bill) - they were sharp 250's (just call me Greg)

not impressed with sharp panels Markc? (I've not run them through the software yet, but the FiT should surely make up for it?)
