With next week forecast for rain, we thought we’d take a moment to explore what IP ratings are and why it is important to know their meaning.

In this blog, we look at the following topics:

What is an IP Rating?

Understanding IP Ratings

The common IP44 and IP65 ratings

The difference between IP6x and IP68

What IP rating to use for Outdoor Lights

What IP rating to use for bathrooms

If there are any topics you think may be useful for either experienced or inexperienced electricians, let us know and we will try our best to help set up a useful guide!

Simple... range is from 0 (soaking wet) to 8 (dry as a bone).
Simple eh, 0-8.....what about 65, what about the 'x'
Does soaking wet mean 0 can be used in a shower and 8 only in the dry?

(just teasing)
