Sockets are an exception because you use portable equipment in them then a rcd is always needed now, although in certain situations you can get round this i doubt these exceptions will ever apply to you.So if you run a circuit in trunking YT2 being for socket outlets or lighting circuit then your covered and dont need an RCD?
i asked a similar thing a while ago that said if you add to a circuit you have to make sure the whole circuit complys
