Hi,

What code would you give for old wiring (IR - L&E=2.25 MΩ, N&L=3.28 MΩ & N&E=3.03 MΩ) and rewirable fuse board? Is it 2 in both cases (Requires Improvement)?

Thanks!

Goody, how can you code these readings when the minimum acceptable value is 1MOhm? (1 MILLION ohms)

Same with the rewirable board, it in itself is not a defect.

You may have defects listed for lack of RCD protection on the various scenarios....

Have a read of this guide:

Hi HQ Electrical,

I agree the reading are more than double the expected range but the cables are one of those rubber insulated kind, hence I thought this should be inproved upon and so for the re-wirable fuse-board without any RCD protection.

I could probably suggest they consider a re-wire with a flashy fuse-board. So no code at the moment.

Thanks

Just comment it, and suggest that it may be nearing the end of it's useful life and warrants consideration of a rewire. I guess we're assuming that this is consistent across all of the circuits and not isolated to one only :)

as IQ says "No rcd protection " listed for shower ,cables in walls earthing not 10mm ect I hate seeing, hearing of guys puting "Consumerunit not up to standard" when the installation was done rewireables were probably the best thing
As for the rubber cabling check the light fittings rear of sockets ect for the rubber drying out and list this as a cause for concern possibly code 3
