6 way wylex consumer all circuits test results all comply my issue is a shower on a 32a 3036 no alterations since original install is this a code 2

Did it comply when it was installed?

I really don't see the relevance as to whether or not it was ever compliant.

Personally I would consider an electric shower without RCD protection as a relatively serious safety defect.

"old" installations without RCD protection for the sockets warrants a C2, so I would venture to suggest that a shower without RCD protection should warrant a C2 as well.

The problem is that there are so many cowboys giving out C1's for minor faults its all a bit of a farce!

Old installations without rcd warrant a c2.? If it was installed to comply with that version of bs7671 then c3

Once again how does the state of compliance at the time of installation materially affect the safety of the defect? We are assessing it against BS 7671:2008 (2015), and must make a judgement call as to whether it is dangerous and if so to what degree?

We are not actually interested in whether it was allowed when it was done or not.

but, getting things into context. scenario is a shower with RCD protection. RCD trips while you're having a shower. water goes freezing cold, you leap out the shower, slip on the floor, break your leg and arm. hmmmm.

Well i disagree you are testing for continued safe use of the installation, so you would code lighting circuits with no rcd installed to 16th ed a c2.???

I agree, otherwise if we go with the other principle there will be thousands of installations out there unsatisfactory (work for every body for ever more). Code 3 recommendation by all means.
