Did it comply when it was installed?
"old" installations without RCD protection for the sockets warrants a C2
"old" installations without RCD protection for the sockets warrants a C2, so I would venture to suggest that a shower without RCD protection should warrant a C2 as well.
Old installations without rcd warrant a c2.? If it was installed to comply with that version of bs7671 then c3

Once again how does the state of compliance at the time of installation materially affect the safety of the defect? We are assessing it against BS 7671:2008 (2015), and must make a judgement call as to whether it is dangerous and if so to what degree? We are not actually interested in whether it was allowed when it was done or not.
Well i disagree you are testing for continued safe use of the installation, so you would code lighting circuits with no rcd installed to 16th ed a c2.???
