Dan, no offence...I'm a newbie, but I think 'the youth of today' have no idea of prose, grammar or a proper grasp on the English language.... so when a post is made with such bad of the above, then I kind of just pointed that out

Times are changing and these things are of lesser importance now than they used to be - with communications via text, social media etc this change is/was inevitable.

Although grammar/spelling can be considered important when, for instance, compiling a CV or issuing a written quote to a customer...

...it has absolutely NO importance when posting on an electrician's forum.

One thing to be careful of in this forum - if you criticise another member's spelling/grammar then yours too will be 'examined' and errors will be noted lol

Tell us a bit more about said experience and knowledge - doing what, learning what, for how long, how, working for whom, so on so forth. The detail of what you need to go on to do, is constrained by the detail of what you've already done. Cheers.
Why? the guy wants to know what he needs to do to become a qualified electrician. Short answer carry on working on site as a mate and attend college at night for 2-3 years to obtain the qualifications needed to get your gold card, I have no idea of the name these days, 2357 I think (probably got that wrong) which will help you obtain nvq 3 level, you may need your AM2 as well.

YEP 2357 is correct.

Shall we do this again lads without the insults?

He didn't really need to answer that in my opinion. It isn't a test before he gets a response. But well done to him for responding.

As his account was new, his other replies weren't going through, which were all fine, but if I'd have approved them it would have sent the thread out of context, as once again you'd hammered a newbie before just chatting like you would on site or whatever.

The guy just want's to know how to become qualified.

Tell him don't be a "Electrical Trainee" - but don't hammer him. That's just shady.

but maybe he`s a shadewacker...

Mike as got it spot on with his reply. The op came here maybe a bit nervous etc, and gets belittled for the sake of it, I am all for ripping into someone who comes in asking basic questions, while trading and who is clearly not capable of doing the job they are charging for.
but the op did nothing wrong I for one want to see more new members but with replies like Nicks we are going to simply scare them off.

And i sent him a pm to try to encourage him back.

Certainly is Ray. I've been on the forum for about 15 minutes. So far I've read a post on who uses moisturiser, one that seems to be focused on spelling & grammar and one regarding a certain members gender. So, basically I've had a full run down on all the important matters and topical issues of the world and now I'm exhausted, I've had my fill. I think I'm gonna get myself to the pub where I can relax and try to digest this barrage of technical information
