Good afternoon, We are a small electrical & solar PV installation company, could someone please advise me how we go about obtaining PAS 2030 accreditation?. I did purchase the PAS 2030 a couple of years ago, but need to explain to our guy in the office how to administer it. We have been MCS accredited since 2010, any help would be very much appreciated.

no idea, but if you work it out please post up an idiots guide as it's baffled me a bit, so I gave up on the idea.

Hi GavinA,

We're also looking at this again, the main issue appears to be masses of job related paperwork to prove above and beyond MCS compliance. If you're MCS certified, it should be just another mass of auditable paperwork trail.

Why are we looking at it?

We see that there is a VERY strong probability that there will be no FiT and no RHI beyond April 2016, as such then they will drive people to fund under the Green Deal, hence requirement for PAS 2030 going forward.

They may even give grants / allowances to the MCS /RHI technologies through the green deal - for example you can get a cash back for a condensing gas boiler but not for an oil boiler or a biomass boiler (ridiculous .. ). It will be simple for them to extend that scheme and cap the expenditure. That will drive more people that way, even if they don't use the Green Deal Finance options, they'll take the cashback.

Just announced this afternoon I believe. Knew signing up to Twitter would come in useful one day!

We are Green Deal Installers. This involved an extra three pages in our MCS manual. We simply applied and were accepted. Is audited as part of MCS annual assessment.

Green Deal is not yet dead. Green Deal Finance Company is one several finance providers. They got into trouble and went cap in hand to the Govt. Unsurprisingly they were told NFO. I have had a flurry of emails from the remainder telling us they are still in business.

Incidentally, we have never done a Green Deal Install. We registered on the basis there would be pressure on everyone when Gregg Barker was still in office to become GD Installers to prop up the scheme.

I didn't register at least partly on the same basis... didn't want to do anything to help prop that terrible scheme up.
