What do you use for your Certs?
Pen & paper
Or software if its a software which one and is it expensive/worth the money? Surely there's a cheaper alternative to easycert?
I am after one that preferably does form filling for cheaper than the above!!!

trial run of easy cert ,saved blanks of all certs to h/d uploaded to pdf cracker cleared off the crap on the certificate that said it was printed using a trial version and i just edit the blank ones with shop ha im a cheapskate

I prefer to hand write them too, to me it just looks more official in some perverse sort of way. I don't find it any quicker doing it on computer. I know some believe printed looks more pro, but I actually disagree with that!

i have been using formfill free version but the new one isnt as good doesnt allow for a continuation or sub main and it used to have PIRs now it doesnt have the new EICR
so until i can jstify it purchasing one then its same as guitarist or using the free formill

Pen and paper while testing then the wife will write them out properly for me because my handwriting is terrible. I keep a copy in excel with a back up on a memory stick

neatly hand written paperwork looks like time and care has been put in
fully printed certs look like a breakdown of your gas bill and have no soul , heart or creativity.
;-)

Does it fill columns in for you? I.e max zs's etc?

Yes - You need to select the type and the rating of the breakers plus you can elect to show 100% of the permissable maximum or select 80%

If you do EICR's it includes the regs numbers against the faults highlighted.

I think you can download the software and use it for a few days FOC - give it a try.

You can also print to a "pdf" file so you can email the certs to your customer too

I work for a large comapny, all my work is done with pen and paper, but it then gets scanned into a computer and a certificate generated.

Creativity!! I think we ALL guilty of a bit creativity!! Like driving off and forgetting to record the Zs of a circuit or forgetting the R2 of your shower circuit lol

;)

untill now i've been using some of the editable PDF certs on this forum but have been looking to get something better as it's time consuming, and i can't save halfway through and sometimes the PDF crashes, but last week a mate passed on a job to me, he gave me the EICR cert he'd done at the property and explained what needed done etc, and i was amazed at how good the cert looked. and then i asked him how much the software was and he said it was £4 from ebay. so i bought one and it's in the post! looks quite good, theres loads on ebay, a hell of a price difference between them and easycert!

I created certificates in word laid out the way I wanted them (with fewer pages!) and generally fill them out by hand, if I feel keen I will fill them out on the PC when I get home, but usually not.
Should transfer them to excel for easier computer completion, or set them up as a form in word, but too lazy.

Easy cert always updated quickley and has WEB back up so im not going to loose them if my PC crashes if there is a problem tech support is replied normally within the hour ,all drop down menus so really good updated regularly, has all the Certs for me including EICRs Fire alarms etc

A plus for me

the company i work for use AMTEK its great but I have used a excel one that was different and had a couple of things Amtek didnt as Im sure easy cert ect have its realy down to personal preferance and what you require
doing hotels where 20-500 rooms have the same dbs Amtek "copy db" is fantastic saves inputing loads of the same info just fill in test results and alted as required for disabled rooms They now have the "up Down" sorted on P2 great for likes of me who take notes then sort out page 2 listings to an order with dbs and advisorys, notes at end You can also move dbs around The schematic diagram done fofr dbs is another good thing
