I was called out to an emergency yesterday. the carpenter was laying a floor and said as he touched two rad pipes and he got a electric shock.
i checked it out and located fault no problem.
the thing i dont get is the pipe work was mixed with copper and plastic pipe work. so even though main incoming water was bonded this particular bit of pipe work and rad was not earthed and had managed to become live.
how could you stop this from happening again? would i have to go round with a long lead and find what was not earthed and cross bond it?
by the way the it was a 16mm submain from the flat above that was livening up this bit of pipe work so rcd protection at fuseboards would not have picked up problem
