Can anyone give me some advice done a periodic the other day and there was no earth continuity on lights so agreed remedial work and then went in a few days later to fault find! After tracing the feed out from the board before going to the first rose it went via a Jb under the floor on the landing found the fault the earths not connected so fixed that fine. So re-tested the circuit and now I had a neutral to earth fault as this was not picked up earlier as the earth was only connected to the first Jb and now there's continuity through the whole circuit it's showing a fault. My point is the customer won't pay out anymore to find the fault and now I've touched the circuit do I need to rcd protect it (the rcd won't hold in by the way) what do I do and how far do u go with it I've made the circuit safer by earthing it? Can anyone advise please

remove the CPC from JB!!!

issue Elec Danger Notice explaining situation, Stick a NO CPC sticker on CU ensure cust has Plastic light fittings and switches from the point of no CPC! (feck the RCD why you need that)
