Hi
New to the forum, so hello everyone!
I thought you might like to see some interesting pictures I've taken yesterday of an installation on a Camp site. I'm now in the process of writing a report for the customer who is being taken to Court by the Electrician (and I use that term very loosely!) who completed the works for non-payment of the whole bill. (ÂŁ1000 has been paid off the bill). Because the report is for Legal Action, can anyone assist me in the exact regulation failures each fault comes under... I am a fully qualified electrician of 20 years and have never seen such poor workmanship, There's a few reg codes I'm struggling to find in order to have the correct regulation linked to the photos, ie meter tail lengths - these are approximately 10metres long, unfused!!! also, use of connector blocks.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures, and feel free to comment.

Looks like the usual mess that camp sites get in when they want everything done on the cheap. I've walked out of one of the local ones after they totally ignored everything I told them. A plumber mate of mine (yes, I did say plumber mate, they're not all bad, just most of them) condemned most of their caravans a few years back. When he drove back later that week, the maintenance knxb was connecting all the gas bottles up. Last year they were trying to get EICR's done on 40 caravans at 20 quid each. 800 quid a week and they want to cut corners all over the place.

This aside, there's some SHOCKING stuff there. Which in particular are you struggling with?

To be fair to the owner of the site he has just bought it and wanted it updating before he opened for business. I am on with typing out a visual report but not quite sure now in how to word it :( I would rather do the work than put it on paper! I have stated all the faults and quoted some examples from the regs to what should be done. but not quite sure if this is going to be ok :mad2: I think I will have another go tomorrow.

Hardly suprising the test cert failed to surfice isit. Although, that test cert we got posted up on here would match them photo's pretty well.

If you EICR'd that install, i wonder how many ticks you'd actually be able to put on the schedule of inspections lol

i`d just give the whole board a (2)...no fartin about trying to decypher any of it...just (2) the lot...

I think rather than writing out a report in a letter I will fill out the Electrical Installation Condition Report form and put the photo's with it and see what happens. I phoned up our Napit inspector last night and he said just fill the form in and back it up with the photo's but take it to a far end of a fart and list everything. :)

Good plan S.I, when you've done you should post the EICR on here for everyone to have a good laugh at how much it failed by. Then publically hang the sparks involved off the whitby swing bridge - if it doesn't fall into pieces by then :38:
