Penance

Thinking of getting a vacuum for general cleaning duties and for attaching to tool dust outlets.
Don't want to spend silly amounts, probably around ÂŁ150 tops.

What would you guys recommend?

Dust management, there'll be a course soon!

I guess anything with a HEPA filter to retain fine particulates.

I have one for general cleanup/tool use NVR200 (Industrial Henry) and a little rechargeable dyson for minor cleanups.

OK at best, it has good filtration on it, although I don't use my wall chaser very often because of the amount of dust it creates. I tend to use an SDS scutch attachment and laser level.

Apparently Henrys are tops, I've yet to try one though. I have had a go on the Wickes one which is bang tidy, I had it strapped to an angle grinder (not a proper chaser) with a bit of gaffer tape and it managed to still catch most of the dust as it was coming out. Also, it had a cool plug socket: you plug in the chaser or drill or whatever into the hoover itself, and the hoover turns on and off whenever you use the trigger on the tool! Witchcraft!

i find the best form of dust management is a pint of good ale. it don't half swill the dust out of my throat.

Interesting idea, may have to try that, is the laser level used for a guideline?
Yep, either use that or sometimes attach a bit of door stop to the wall first. Advantage of the laser level is you don't loose the line as you start to remove material.

Think I'd rather go for Telectrix's solution though :D

They do, they are the largest manufacture of vac's and pressure washers in europe and supply alot of the other major manufacturer with kit too. My wet and dry one is great sucks up anything that fits in the hose.
