Doing an install - came across a main cut out with the following markings

On the outside - BIGG

Stamped on the inside around the fuse head - LISTING RH80 80A

Any idea what I'm looking at? The house was built late 60s early 70s according to the owner.

BICC British insulated callander cables is manufacturer and size depends on what is on the barrell inside the cutout fuse

It's a BICC RH80 Type 2A fuse carrier, it would of originally contained a BS1361 Type 2A fuse rated =<80A. Without the carrier being removed and the fuse type and rating checked, it's anybody's guess as to what it actually contains (seen fuse wire, 2.5 mm[SUP]2[/SUP] copper wire and steel nails e.t.c. ?)

If the shared neutral is lost ,won`t you be getting 400v across both cottages? 2 phase US style but double the Voltage.

Therein lies the problem. I see no merit in further circular debate, so will bow out of this discussion.
