We started out on the Wooldridge as it was the first proportional controller to market, moved to the Immersun when it came out as it was a bit prettier and programmable.

I am now looking at the Marlec iBoost given Immersuns wireless version still hasn't been launched, anyone got any feedback on it? Seems cheap...

Just wondering what everyone else is using and why? My main parameters are:

1Ease of install

2Functionality

3Cost

Cheers

same, though I'm interested in the potential of the elios 4u stuff once it has the option to control multiple circuits.

What I really want is a load controller that can be approved by the DNOs as being capable of limiting the output to 3.68kW or whatever the limit is that's set - I think the EMMA device is approved by some for this, but need something a bit more cost effective, and IMO this can't be for a single immersion, it needs a secondary circuit to something like a storage heater, but I don't see the immersun burstfire technique meeting DNO approval / or at lest not potentially causing a transformer to fail / leading to flicker problems if it did (as this is only usually an issue where the transformer is small anyway).

I've been told the new immersun is not going to be burst fire or phase angle controlled so should eliminate flicker and DNO issues. Also told it would be released in June... 2013 that is...
