I would like any advice on the kind of isolator I should install between the main cut out fuses and electrical meter (see picture). This is a domestic installation with 2 phases (60Amp type 2 cutout fuse for each phase).
This all started when I was asked to make a set of economy 7 sockets "permanently on". I did the correct thing and asked the electrical supplier to replace the lead tags on the main fuses, they said this would cost £50 but if I installed an isolator between the main fuses and the meter the tag replacement would be free.
So my question is which kind of isolator is best, is there any regualtions about the kind of isolator that should be used. Any of the pictured any good?

a bog standard 2 pole, 100A main switch ( as in CU ) in an enclosure is adequate.

Thanks very much for the advice, I asked a few electrical suppliers for the kind they normally sell for this application, but they wouldnt say "in case they where liable". So thanks again. PS does the neutral have to be isolated? I notice the wylex islolates the neutral also. Is it sufficient just to isolate purely the phase wire from each cutout fuse and keep the neutral connected?

you cant put a isolator bettween the main fuse cut out and meter, this has to go after the meter, to prevent people turning of and bypassing the meter. but other wise as IQ says Dp 100amp.

That makes sense, I got two of the wylex iso's on order. Cheers guys.

The Wylex one comes with shrouds on either end which can be removed indipendantly and sealed indipendantly so the DNO seal incoming side and leave the out going side for you to play with

yeah, i was being a bt facetious there, don't just bash holes in and seal with sellotape. much prefer blu-tack.
