What make of downlight do you normally use (gu10 style) ?

Just seeing what make of downlight you normally use (gu10 style) ?

Been through a few variations over the years, JCC, Robus, Click, Wilts Plus and as from this week giving Aurora a try.

Would be nice to get one where you could easily fit 2 twin and earths in there, rather than resorting to my own chocblock/wagos etc...

you should be using a JB and heat resistant flex!

JCC now do one with a connection that will take 2 x 1.5mm T&E or flex

Don't use g.e.t I used them to day and they are aload of beep should of binned them Neva using them again.

Telectrix is absolutely correct you should be using HR flex into downlights and make your T&E connections in a JB such as Ashley 501 or similar

I use the scolmore ( click ) fire rated , really like it and there is a fair bit of room for connection . I'm not sure I've found a unit which easily copes with 2 x 1.5mm t/e , you think the manufacturers would have realised this .

I use a basic one with a cfl lamp in place of those horrible halogen things. Use clicks as they will actually take two 2.5 t&e ( not that I use 2.5)

Saxby stuff is really nice to use, and I'm another one for junction boxes, a ashely 501 junction box and some heat proof flex make life sooo much easier.

Just googled ashley 501's they dont look too bad, quite a bit of room in there... might give them a try, what sort of price are you chaps paying for a box of them ?

i do like the aurora they are easy to connect up and have used them an all types of installs
i think the product code is a AU DLL 901 for fixed AU DLL 902 FOR IP RATED AND A AU DLL 903 FOR ADJUSTABLE

click downlights are fanntastic, can terminate 2 t+e in them. they keep the cable far from the heat that the light generates also. i prefer low voltage but these gu10 are good
