Personally I've got the MI3000 as I was on a budget when I bought it, got very few complaints. There's my review somewhere on here if you search. (my main complaint is that you can't detach the third lead so it's always dangling around and getting in the way.

By the way, use the term "Multifunction Tester" or MFT, not multimeter, or people will think you're talking about a basic ÂŁ10 volt/ammeter...

i wouldn't touch a seaweed with a bargepole. had 1 once, it died. plenty megger 1552/3 s on the market. evilbay etc. find one that's still in calibration. can't go wrong.

One think I like about my MI3000 is it comes in what looks like a lunch bag! Can leave it on the front seat of the car without anyone nicking it!

Contact Test-Meter, a forum sponsor and see if they have deals going on - they also have an excellent matrix of products and features.

Don't skimp - you many regret it.

give the guys at test meter a pm or a call. they have the full range of meters they stock and can give you a good honest review on them

Hi colface, welcome to the forum. We are authorised UK distributors for Metrel, Dilog and Seaward and can offer you a 5% discount from our advertised website prices.

Have a look at the below PDF comparison chart, it will compare all of the most popular MFT's that we sell. Comparing the features on this chart with the prices that you pay will highlight that the Metrel MI3000 is very good value for money compared against the Dilog & Seaward- if you click the model number of the MFT on the PDF, it will take you to the product on our website.

Although the Seaward Powertest 1557 isn't featured on the chart just yet, it offers the same specification as the Dilog 9083p.

If you need any further assistance, please PM me, or you can call on 01132 48 99 66.

Metrel are quality!!!! I have used the MI3125 for about a year and cannot grumble. Just one issue is that you sometimes need 3 hands when testing! Have a look at the tip commander, using this you can get away with just 2!

That is very cool. It would be the end user software that would make that the absolute king.
