am just looking myself, test-meter what’s the best on the market?danny

It all depends on the type of equipment and the quantity you'll be testing. Obviously if you are doing loads of testing and it's your mainline of work then a downloadable tester will save you loads of time in the long run.

Seaward are the world’s leader in PAT testers and their most advanced tester is the Seaward Primetest 350 it is one of the most flexible testers on the market and there are loads of handy accessories to save you even more time.

If your budget can't stretch that far there are loads of other really popular downloadable testers available: The Metrel GammaPAT lite (without software) and Gammapat Pro (with software) are both really popular.

Megger have also just launched a new range of testers! The 400 Series We've only managed to have a quick play with the 400 series (only launched last week) but they are really easy to navigate and use and defiantly worth a look.

If you would like to have a chat about your requirements please feel free to call us on: 0113 248 9966 I'm sure we'll be able to find something that fits your spec & budget.

We also have a interactive "product finder" that you might find useful, just select the features you require and the application will choose the tester which best fits your selection.

Hi Test-Meter,

Am also looking for a tester and was checking out the Megger 320, just wondered if you guys had had a chance to take one of these out the box and try it out??

Hi Kentster,
Yes I have, the Megger PAT320 has being out a bit longer than the 400 series and I really like it. One of the best features is that you can unplug the tester and move between tests (for about 5 minutes) and rather than waiting for the tester to "boot up" it instantly goes back to the last screen you were on!

All the convenience of a battery powered tester with High current earth bond testing..... genius!

Another cool feature is that the relays are “continually rated” meaning that they don’t overheat with loads of testing.
